Introducing Data Analysis in the Schools: Who Should Teach It and How? ISI Round Table Conference The papers in these Proceedings demonstrate that the responses to such possibilities are as varied as the social, cultural, and economic backgrounds of those who respond. In some countries the penetration of statistical ideas into the school programme is relatively deep, while in others these ideas are barely mentioned. The papers discuss the divergent perspectives of the conference participants, reflect on the pervasive nature of data analysis and help to stimulate discussion and clarify the important role that statistical ideas can have in the school curriculum.
