This web page is designed to keep you informed about the course. 475.732 is really a course about fitting dynamic models to temporal data. This is done within the arena of quantitative fisheries science. Likelihood inference is used throughout, and due to the real world challenges of modeling dynamic populations, it will often be necessary to use variations of standard likelihood to cope with nuisance parameters, measurement errors, random effects etc. The course includes introduction to ADMB, Automatic Differentiation Model Builder, which is at present the most powerful modeling software in the world. |
