This course hasn't been taught in a long time. It is really a course about advanced statistical modeling, and the most relevant substitutes are STAT 730 and 731.

STAT 7xx (Fisheries) is about fitting dynamic models to temporal data. This is done within the arena of quantitative fisheries science.

Likelihood inference is used throughout, and due to the real world challenges of modeling dynamic populations, it will often be necessary to use variations of standard likelihood to cope with nuisance parameters, measurement errors, random effects etc.

The course includes introduction to ADMB, Automatic Differentiation Model Builder, which is at present the most powerful modeling software in the world.
