STATS 225 is designed to give an introduction to the mathematical theory of statistics and prepare students for further study in statistics. The course concentrates on the classical (normally distributed) case. If you are considering doing postgraduate work in statistics, this course will be very useful to you.

Topics studied include: Discrete and continuous random variables, expected values, multivariate distribution theory, multivariate transformations, sampling theory, estimation and testing
