Admission and enrolment overview

All students, whether new students who have been granted admission to the University, or returning students, should discuss their choice of programme and courses with the appropriate departmental Graduate Officer.

Note that admission and enrolment are two different processes. You first apply for (and get) admission to the University, then enrol in the programme and course of your choice, in consultation with the Academic Advisers.

You are welcome to attend the University during normal office hours to seek academic or enrolment advice or assistance in completing your enrolment.

You will then have to complete an Application for Admission form. This is done through the University’s online admission and enrolment system Student Services Online.

To check the deadline for applications, see the University of Auckland's application deadlines webpage.

If you do not have web access or cannot visit our on-campus help labs you should phone 0800 61 62 63 (+64 9 308 23 86 when outside New Zealand) or email studentinfo@auckland.ac.nz.

The procedure is slightly different depending on whether or not you are a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand.

Find more information on the central admission and enrolment section.

International students

Candidates who are not citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand need to apply for admission through the International Students Office by completing an Application for Admission form.
