Whether you are a student learning about probability, a researcher collecting data, or a statistical consumer, randomness is seen in all kinds of situations. However, it has been frequently reported that we all are prone to holding randomness misconceptions. These misconceptions, often considered in terms of heuristics and biases, can affect our statistical competency. My Ph.D. thesis investigates the characteristics of New Zealand teachers' randomness perceptions.
