Accommodation and travel
We have booked accommodation in 2-3 locations close to the conference centre, which is Tahunanui, near Nelson.
The suggested option for students and attendees with children is a cabin at the holiday park (this is at the conference location). Note that linen is not included but can be rented for $10, towels are not included. We will cover the cost of shared (2 per cabin) accommodation plus linen hire for graduate students.
The suggested option for invited speakers and international guests is Beachcomber Motor Inn. (The cost is $135 per night). Overflow from the Motor Inn will be instead located at Arrow Motel. There are just 7 motel rooms remaining. Both options are a short walk (about 5 minutes) from the conference centre. We will cover the accommodation cost at Beachcomber (or equivalent) for NZ based participants.
Morning teas and lunches will be provided from Jan 8-Jan 13. Basic food items can be purchased from local shops (a couple of minutes walk from Beachcomber). There are also local restaurants and fast food chains. Supermarkets and other shops can be found in Nelson (a 5 minute drive). There is a Local bus service between Nelson and Tahunanui.
Nelson airport is close to the conference location, Tahunanui. Air NZ flies from Auckland to Nelson. It is possible to get a taxi from the airport. We will cover the cost of travel for NZ based students.
