The Training
Programs of SRTC are designed to develop statistical competencies of government
and private agencies or individuals seeking the necessary and comprehensive
understanding of statistical methods and processes. Other training programs in
statistics and allied fields are also conducted upon request.

EFFECTIVE USE OF MICROSOFT
EXCEL AND POWERPOINT FOR STATISTICAL REPORTS
Examines in depth the capabilities of Excel as spreadsheet package and Power
Point as graphics and presentation software package. Underscores the effective
presentation of statistical reports using Microsoft excel and PowerPoint
software.

DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS
Deals
with the methods of collecting, organizing, presenting and summarizing data. It
involves the organization of set of data into tables, graphs or charts, and
other relevant data summarization techniques. It makes the presentation of
statistical information more meaningful and easy to understand.

STATISTICAL METHODS FOR RESEARCH
Provides
familiarity with statistical methods that present order into attempts to make
conclusions from the evidence provided by the samples. It covers introduction to
statistical concepts, descriptive statistical measures, basic probability
concepts, the normal distribution, basic sampling techniques, hypothesis
testing, analysis of variance, simple linear regression and correlation
analysis.

WEBPAGE DEVELOPMENT FOR STATISTICAL DISSEMINATION
Encourages participants to learn
the power of webpage and eventually use it as tool for statistical
dissemination.

STATISTICAL REPORT WRITING
Teaches the mechanics of technical writing as applied to
statistics and how these can be crafted to suit a variety of readers. This
course will encourage participants to improve the presentation of statistical
reports through available computer software combined with better skills when
composing said reports.

Data Processing and Tabulation using Integrated Microcomputer Processing
System (IMPS)
Teaches the mechanics of processing the data from
the data collection form into the computer accurately and in a timely fashion.
Covers the concepts on data file structure, data capture, editing the data file,
tabulating the data, disseminating the data, and final evaluation using the free
computer software package, Integrated Microcomputer Processing System (IMPS).
Participants will be provided with this free computer package after completion
of the training program.

7. DATABASE
MANAGEMENT USING MS ACCESS
Introduces
the participants to the essential capabilities of MS Access as a package for
creating database and eventually learns the basics of database management
systems and specifically the commands within MS Access.

PROCESSING
AND ANALYSIS OF ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS
Teaches
the participants with the methods and procedures of processing data from
administrative records for statistical data generation and analysis. Basic
concepts on limitations and assessment of administrative data quality, as well
as indices that may be generated from these data shall be covered.

AND OPERATION OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEYS (Statistical Data Management)
Addresses
the need to develop a reliable design of questionnaire and a systematic,
well-planned data gathering and processing procedures. This course will enable
participants to minimize errors and observe standard operational practices when
conducting actual survey.

types of data.
