Your application must include the following:
- The vacancy number and name of the post for which you are applying
- Your full name and summarised details of qualifications
- Your contact details - address, telephone, fax, email
- Contact details (address, telephone, fax, email) for three
referees from whom we may seek confidential reports concerning your
suitability for the position
The remainder of your application should consist of a detailed
curriculum vitae, sufficient for us to assess your research, teaching
and/or administrative experience and skills, and potential for appointment.
Candidates for Chairs, in particular, are asked to indicate what they
consider their five most influential publications. Please do not
send original documents and certificates. We would like some indication of
when you could commence duties, if offered the position.
There is some additional information you might like to consider
supplying. In the event of an offer being made to you we will need to know:
- Your date and place of birth
- The names and ages of partners/spouses and children
This information will be necessary to allow us to make arrangements for
travel removals and accommodation, and for immigration purposes.
All successful applicants will be required to later supply a copy of a
birth certificate or other evidence of date of birth.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The information you supply will be used for filling the vacancy for
which you have applied. It will be available only to members who are
members of selection panels and relevant committees of the University's
system of governance, plus those administrative staff involved in the
process of appointments. The information in the application of any
successful applicant will be retained by the University and may be used for
matters relating to that individual's employment in the University in
accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993.
- Under the provisions of this Act, the University may not keep personal
information for longer than that information is required for the purposes
for which it was obtained. Unless we are notified that the submitted
materials should be returned, or used for some other purpose, applications
from unsuccessful applicants will be destroyed two months after an
application has been accepted.
- Any offer of employment we make is dependent on your obtaining a work
visa or permanent residency visa for new Zealand. Australian and New
Zealand citizens are exempt from this requirement. All visa are issued by
the New Zealand Immigration Service, located at new Zealand embassies and
consulates around the world. permanent residency is granted only if you
meet specific targets by gaining points for qualifications, work
experience, age and other factors as well as passing medical and character
checks. You must also pass an English language test unless exempt by virtue
of having gained educational qualifications conducted in English. All
family members over 15 years of age must also comply with this requirement.
